How We Work

Financial Advisers work in different ways; this explains the process we go through to understand your requirements, to provide advice, and (if you want us to) to arrange the investment, pension, etc..

We come to you - either in your home or in another convenient location - and we are happy to travel up to about an hour from Fleet. The first meeting - typically 30 to 60 minutes - enables you to tell us what you are looking for, and for us to explain our approach. There is no charge for this meeting, and part of the agenda is for us to explain the ways that we can charge. There won't be any charge until we have agreed our fees in writing - this is in the form of our Engagement Letter.

Once we have agreed what we are going to do for you, we will talk to you to find out more detail about your financial situation - the "Fact Find". This enables us to research the best approach for your objectives and to make recommendations - we would generally complete the Fact Find at the next meeting (although it may be appropriate to include during our first meeting if we are both comfortable with that). Having done the research, we provide full documentation to explain our recommendations in the form of the Advice Report.

Assuming that you want us to follow up by organising the financial arrangement (investment, pension, etc.), we will complete the paperwork with you and follow it through to successful completion with the relevant provider firms.

We are best able to help you if we provide you with an ongoing service over a period of time. That way we get to understand you and your objectives more fully, and are able to help you keep up to date with your financial planning. Most of our clients opt for an ongoing service which provides an annual review of your investment or pension, as well as the opportunity to contact us with queries at other times.
